The building is situated in the green, calm, upper middle class district Charlottenburg / Wilmersdorf, just 800m south of Kurfuerstendamm's best stretch, site of the legendary, late lamented Café Kranzler. From here Berlin's buzzing western centre lies at your fingertips: The famous zoo, the shopping paradise Kurfuerstendamm and Tauentzienstrasse, the department store 'Kaufhaus des Westens' (KaDeWe) and the 'Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church'. Your heavy shopping bags will be no trouble, a mere two subway stops lie between Kurfuerstendamm station and your apartment. Berlin City-West offers Western structures, excellent and interesting shopping facilities and a densly woven public transport. The underground station (ca. 200 yards) is U-Guentzelstrasse, line #9.

Coast/Beach
Oh yes: also if you did not expect it, Berlin is the one of the large cities in Germany with the most forest and number of natural lakes. A phenomenal 15% of the urban area is forest and green space with almost 10 lakes. Some are with wild beaches but also white sanded cultivated ones i.e. the most famous 'Strandbad Wannsee'.

Skiing
We are sorry, the winter time bestows Berlin rare and little snow only. The winters become warmer and there is really little hope to get one of the few days in a decade, Berlin becomes a snow paradise. But if this happen once, you will see almost all of the 3.5 million Berliners amuse themselves on one of the 250 feet high debris hills of worldwar II. (It's a special Berlin happening, worth to have a short look at it!)

Travel
A cause of the history of our city, Berlin provides 3 city airports, which sometimes causes some confusion:
TXL Tegel - NW of Berlin - driving distance 7.3 miles.
SFX Schoenefeld - SE of Berlin - driving distance 15.5 miles.
THF Tempelhof - S of centre airport of airbridge - 2.8 miles.
The brand new central station is another example of Berlin's future architecture. Huge halls let the people call it Rail Dome - 4.4 miles.

Distances
Ca. 200 yards away from the underground station, Guentzelstrasse, which gives an excellent link to the densly woven public transport system.

The building is only 2 subway stations away from the famous Kurfuerstendamm in Berlin's City West. Some sights can be reached by 30 min walk, eg. shopping area Kurfürstendamm, KaDeWe (very famous department store), Zoologischer Garten and Aquarium, Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche, Tiergarten, Kulturforum, Variete Wintergarten and Potsdamer Platz.

Cancellation is free of charge until 4 weeks before the date of arrival. After this date, the deposit is non refundable unless we have able to rent the apartment again.
