Wagrain is a small market town in the St. Johann im Pongau district of the state of Salzburg, Austria - only 40 minutes transfer from Salzburg Airport. Wagrain is situated within the vast “Ski Amade” region with 860 km (534 miles) of downhill ski slopes with 270 cable cars, free ski buses, many other sports, and Water World right on your doorstep.

Skiing
The apartment is within 400m of Grafenberg Gondola which is part of vast Ski Amade region which has 860km (534 miles) of groomed downhill ski slopes with 270 cable cars, free ski buses. The area is huge and great for skiers and boarders alike. It is possible to cross country ski from Wagrain centre.
From the apartment you have the ability to take three main gondolas to various areas, Wagrain and Alpendorf (Grafenberg Gondola), Flachau and Kirchboden/Wagrain (Flying Mozart & Moadorfl). You could also take ski bus to Kleinarl which links to massive area of Flachauwinkel and Zauchensee.
The slopes are well maintained and views stunning. It is unusual to encounter queues for lifts. There are great restaurants in Wagrain village right on the doorstep. Also excellent mountain restaurants.
Further skiing within short driving distance at Schladming, Bad Gastein, Altenmarkt, Maria Alm, Grossarl.
There are English speaking ski instructors and the ski schools are excellent.
Special interest holidays
There are numerous marked hiking/walking/biking trails from Wagrain either from the top of the Grafenburg or directly from the centre of Wagrain. Some of the gondolas are open in the summer.
Lakes in Wagrain and surrounding area for bathing, boating etc.
There is an adventure centre in Flachau (5 mins drive from apartment) offering high rope adventure parks, white water rafting, caving, canyoning, climbing etc..
Travel
Salzburg airport is the nearest airport to Wagrain (71km) and is approx a 45 minute drive. Instead you could take a taxi from the airport (approx cost Euros 90) or take the train from Salzburg to St Johann im Pongau and then take taxi from there to Wagrain.
Munich airport is approx 2 hours drive from the apartment.
The apartment is situated in the centre of Wagrain and once at the apartment a car is not needed. Free ski buses transport you to the Grafenberg & Flying Mozart gondolas.
Distances
The apartment is in the heart of Wagrain with all its facilities on the doorstep and easy reach of gondolas, ski hire shops, ski school booking with no need for a car.

Opposite the apartment is a Bank and Tourist Office. The apartment is directly within Wagrain town centre which has many restaurants. There is a bakers, butchers/delicatessen, chemist, supermarkets (3 within 2 minute walk), post office and doctors. The ski hire shop is opposite the apartment and ski school booking within 400m just before the Grafenberg gondola.
Booking notes
A non refundable deposit of 25% is due upon booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival date.
