Can Mayol is a traditionally built and beautifully furnished two bedroom Finca set amongst a pretty garden of citrus fruits, olive trees and vines. The Finca is sited in a peaceful location with magnificent views across the valley and the Tramuntana Mountains from all four terraces, and enjoys a large private and secluded saltwater swimming pool. The internal layout is spacious and bright, with exposed beams throughout and rooms are well proportioned with excellent living space. It is but a 2 minute's walk to the pretty village square with its church, bars, restaurants and supermarket. This is a fantastic area for walking or just relaxing whilst enjoying the marvellous views and local hospitality. The two beaches at Port de Soller are a 10 minute drive. Both the Port and the town of Soller offer many fantastic restaurants and bars, bike rental, Mallorca vacation property, Fornalutx vacation property, boat rental and transportation to the rest of the island.

| Living Rooms: | The lounge is tastefully designed with solid teak furniture and textiles, ample seating, and a feature wood burning fireplace. Opening onto a large terrace with seating it has English satellite TV and CD stereo. |
| Other: | A separate stone floor dining room with original well and wood burning fire seats 6. The galleried loft accessed via a spiral staircase and edged by intricate ballustrade boasts a very private balcony perfect for leisurely mornings & en-suite bathroom. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All linens and towels are included (except pool towels). Cleaning is on a weekly basis and will be charged at 10 euros per head (2008 rates). |
Notes on accommodation
We truly want your visit to Fornalutx to be memorable and will endeavour to make your stay at Can Mayol as comfortable as possible. Please let us know if you have any special requirements e.g. cots, high chairs, videos, DVDs, bikes, local info etc. In the interest of other guests, please note this is a strictly non smoking house. All rooms are beautifully furnished and compliment the natural finishes and beams. During the winter months logs for the wood burning fireplaces are provided and delivered in bulk for your arrival, charged to you at cost. For ease with luggage, backpacks or wheeley suitcases are recommended and of course, sensible shoes!

Accessibility
Can Mayol is accessed via a gradual climb of 200 steps from the Plaza through a cluster of local houses clad with bouganvillea, and the church. It takes 4 mins to walk up to the house and 2 mins back down to the Plaza/Square. Alternatively steps lead down from the road/car bay above. Parking is also to the left and right of the Plaza. In view of the location of the Finca, age and hillside terrain with many different levels/areas to the garden, we suggest it not appropriate for babies/toddlers.
Outside
Terraced gardens with hammocks for lazy days, and abundance of citrus fruit in season for freshly squeezed breakfast juice! Tiny but characteristic vineyard and mature olive trees. Many patios/terraces clad with bougainvillea, wisteria and honeysuckle. Large (approx 23ft x 15ft) secluded and private use salt water swimming pool with fantastic views from the water over the mountains. Barbeque and ample seating.
Coast/Beach
The Port of Soller is a 10 min drive from Fornalutx. Water skiing in the port. A fun way to get there is to take the historic tram from the centre of the town of Soller. There are two beaches and fantastic restaurants, bars and shops. Also car, bike, kayak and boat rental.
Golf
20 minutes to Palmanyola golf club.
Special interest holidays
Hiking guides available with notice. Mountain bikes available at 100 euros a week.
Travel
35 mins by car to Palma International airport. The town of Soller is 5 mins way. Car hire available with notice.

Fornalutx has 3 bars, 5 restaurants, 2 banks, a very well stocked supermarket, and a Catholic church. All other amenities are available in Soller. The beach and harbour is 10 mins away at Port of Soller with many restaurants and bars. There are all kinds of boat rentals available in the Port. The best trails and hiking in Mallorca.
Booking notes
A 50% deposit required on booking. This will be forfeited if the booking is cancelled within 8 weeks of the rental date. Outside this period half will be refunded. The balance is payable 3 weeks before arrival or by arrangement. A fully refundable 150 Euro deposit will be required against breakages and damage.
Guest comments
A truly rustic and beautiful country home in the mountains, yet so close to the hive of activity of the village when you want it! The children have loved the pool and the neighbouring goats with the bells, and the huge gardens have really tired them out thank goodness. This is a true hidden gem where sipping wine on the terrace watching the sun set seems paradise.
Wow what a beautiful area this is, we have had a wonderful 2 weeks exploring Fornalutx and the surrounding areas and mountains. Lots of swimming, beach and walking but most of all enjoying your beautiful house where we have really felt at home - can't wait to return next year. The Brookers July 07
Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us - it is so beautiful here waking to the birds, fresh orange juice and hot croissants from the bakers and sleeping to the wonderful sound of cicadas and frogs. Whilst not sleeping, we've had a fantastic time being lazy in the garden and pool!
