Luxury apartments with large garden (full time gardener) and pool which has infants area divided off, sunny/shady as required, beach is one minute away via direct access thru Puerto Portals marina village. Adjoining Marineland park exhibit, and a short walk from banks, restaurants, and the village of Portals Nous, along shaded and flower-bedded walkways. Bus service locally or to Palma City about every ten minutes. Tennis club nearby and golf curses at Santa Ponsa, a five minute drive. In the Puerto Portals village are many restaurants, pubs, clubs and shops, and it is considered one of the premier social areas of Palma, combining security with quality. Adequate parking is nearby, although a car is not considered necessary until one wishes to travel elsewhere on the Island. Lovely walks are available around the cliffs nearby or just to the end of the breakwater (45 mins roundtrip), make it easy to stay in shape.

Changeover day
Dates are flexible due to the availability of daily airline service. Depart at 10 am and check in at 3 pm. In the case of earlier arrivals it may be possible to leave luggage after 10 am.

Accommodation

2 double bedrooms (main bedroom has double bed, with sliding door leading out on to the terrace) plus 2 twin beds in 2nd room.
Full bathroom, basin, toilet, plus 2nd shower basin and toilet.
Separate German-designed kitchen.
Lounge/Dining room includes dining on the enclosed terrace.
Terrace overlooking garden and pool has dining facilities.
Linen and towels are included, but not beach towels.

Basically the same size as the the 3rd floor apartment - but has been reconfigured to have an American-style kitchen + breakfast bar within the living room space, and added a third single bed/utility room which is useful when a family has two sexes of children or there is an extra adult.
It could alternatively contain a bunk bed, if required, but so far has only a single.
Many folk prefer to be on the ground floor because their kids or family can be in the garden or pool just by jumping over the terrace dwarf wall, and can set up their umbrella etc right outside where they live.

 

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioned in the European style, that is not with a central unit US style but separte units for living room and main bedroom. Security is provided by electric gates. There are fulltime porter and groundsman.

Accessibility
Adequate free and safe parking is available. Choice of three lifts makes easy access, including for wheelchair users, either from pool and Puerto Portals Marina level, or from street level on the 4th floor.

Outside
Large communal garden with mature plants and trees, has full time gardener, also large pool with infant separation, has sunny or shady layout areas.

Coast/Beach
Local Portal Nous beach is about five minutes walk thru the marina. It is cleaned daily and supervised: umbrellas etc are available.

Golf
Choice of several golf courses a short distance away.

Travel
Palma airport (PMI) a 20 min taxi ride. A feature of the area is that altho there is adequate free safe parking, it is not necessary to have a car as normal facilities are at hand. The bus service is every 10 mins and there is a taxi stand nearby.

Distances
Palma town 7 km, Portals Nous 500 m away. Immediately adjacent in the port are numerous restaurants, bank, supermarket, daily British and European newspapers.

Further details
Car rental in the same street. The neighbouring islands of Menorca or Ibiza are easily accessible by ferry or plane.

Booking notes
A booking deposit of £100 will confirm the booking, which will be retained as a security deposit until completion of the stay, and returned within 48 hours electrocically or bymail, visitors choice. Rental due should be paid full one month before date of arrival. Currently August 22, 2007 and onwards dates are available.
