Notes on accommodation
There is also a radio and CD player you can use. A large library of books for you to read and a small football game for the kids! A tandem bicycle in the garage for your use and if the balls have not been lost there is a Ping Pong table on the roof terrace! Great fun. For laundry, although we do not have a washing machine there is a very good self-service launderette a 5 minute walk away.
Outside
The villa is on a quiet road with 3 other private villas. The garden is very secluded as it is enclosed by a hedge with wrought iron gates. It was custom built for us in the Moorish style with sweeping arches and steps (with gates) leading to a flat tiled roof terrace. There are also two very large terraces on ground level with 6 loungers, barbecue, 2 tables and 10 chairs. The garden can be illuminated at night.
Coast/Beach
The beautiful beach (over 7 miles of pure white sand) is less than a one minute walk from Villa Castor, where there are several beach bars and all kinds of water sports. Water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, banana and ring rides, pedalo rentals etc., and luckily, our section never seems to be crowded. You can also take the glass bottom boat ride to Formentor. A large water park is also close by, about 10 minutes walk, and a fabulous disco that hops all night. Don't worry it is to far to hear it!!
Golf
Several golf courses are near by. The closest is about 10 min. drive.
Special interest holidays
Sailing/windsurfing courses are available for adults and children on the beach.
The famous Albufera marshland nature reserve, ideal for bird watchers, is a 10 min. drive.
The spectacular Traumantana mountain range is excellent for both hiking and cycling.
Travel
The villa is situated on the north eastern coast which is a fifty minute drive from Palma airport. You can also drive from the UK if you take the ferry to France and then the ferry from Barcelona that goes straight to Port Alcudia! Although you don't need a car while staying at the villa we recommend one to explore the island and mountains! A taxi from Palma airport is around £45.
Distances
The port of Alcudia is a lovely 7 minutes walk down the back of the beach from Villa Castor. There are great restaurants/ bars and a marina with further bars and restaurants! There is a Roman ruin and theatre nearby. Inland Alcudia is a twenty minute walk and is a must see as it is a beautiful unspoilt inland village. Port Pollensa is the next bay and the drive to Formentor is spectacular, about a 1/2 hour drive over the mountains with amazing sea views on both sides.
Further details
Four generations of our family continue to enjoy their holidays here- some preferring beautiful inland walks through unspoilt villages and countryside, others, hours of swimming, sailing and watersports at the beach, and some love the challenge of a mountain climb with spectacular views! When the sun goes down there is also a great diversity of things to do... from a quiet meal or barbecue on the terrace or visits to idyllic bars and restaurants overlooking the sea, to night-clubs, go- karting and floodlit tennis for the young and energetic! On your arrival there will be a welcome pack and a book we put together, with all the local information and best places to go.

This place is fabulous...this is the third year we have been!
Could not ask for a better location. So close to the sea and town.
A perfect family villa...big enough that you don't get in each others way!
Great place as you can walk to everything and it is so well equipped. Loved playing table tennis on the roof.
