Situated in an acre of luxurious tropical landscaped gardens Anchorage, with its unique inside/outside feel, is one of the outstanding Villa's on the exclusive Sandy Lane Estate. The Villa has a permanent Housekeeper/Cook who provides all the services that you would expect of a property of this quality. Ernesta will prepare breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner... take care of the household and your personal laundry... as well as baby sitting services (extra) by arrangement. Apart from the accommodation facilities Anchorage has its own private pool with six sun loungers. The dining arrangements can be alfresco on the Outside Terrace for 6 or at the formal dining table which accommodates 12. Only 5 minutes walk or 2 minutes drive away from the Villa is the private Sandy Lane Property Owners Beach Club facility adjacent to, and in the same bay, as the famous Sandy Lane Hotel. Here the Villa has its own private Cabana with sun loungers, fridge and the Club has toilets and showers.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. If you have made a last minute decision to take a break in Barbados and are within 4 weeks of departure and see that we have availability then why not ask if we can offer a late booking discount.

Changeover day
We operate a Saturday to Saturday booking policy.

Bedrooms: Large Master Bedroom of 5m2 can be made-up as a twin or one humongous double with en-suite.
Middle Bedroom is better as a double but can be made up as a twin.
The Third Bedroom is suitable as a twin or a double.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned!
Bathrooms: The Master Bathroom is fully en-suite and has double basins and a large walk-in shower. The middle bedroom has its own Bathroom opposite and has a single basin plus bath/shower. The Third Bathroom is en-suite and has two basins plus bath/shower.
Kitchen: The recently installed modern kitchen has everything the amateur or professional cook needs: two ovens (gas and electric), six ring gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, American fridge/freezer, washing machine and dryer.
Utility Room: The utility room is normally the domain of Ernesta, our Housekeeper, as she handles all domestic as well as guests laundry.
Living Rooms: Spacious vaulted living room is a blend of Barbados mahogany furniture with modern bamboo. Security louver shutters open fully to the North and South sides giving the room a feeling of openness as in either direction the view is of luscious gardens.
Other: The Dining area overlooks the Outside Terrace and is ideal for formal entertaining as the marble dining table seats 12.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Ernesta, our Housekeeper/Cook, works 6 days a week 8 hours a day and takes care of all household cleaning as well as domestic and guests laundry. All linens plus Pool/beach and bath towels are provided and refreshed on a frequent basis.

Accessibility
Sorry, but due to the fluctuating ground levels both inside and outside the villa, Anchorage is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
The large, covered, Outdoor Patio overlooks the pool and it is where most guests relax when not by the pool enjoying the Barbados sun. At one end there is a dining area with a wrought iron table that comfortably seats six, and is ideal for breakfast, lunch and informal dining in the evenings.

The Villa is located in the middle of its own manicured one acre/half a hectare gardens. The lush tropical planting give guests total privacy with quiet shaded areas where one can enjoy a book, or alternatively lie by the pool perfecting the sun tan on any one of the 6 loungers.

Coast/Beach
Less than 5 minutes walk away from the house is the private Sandy Lane property owners beach facility. Here, Anchorage has its own small private Cabana, which houses a fridge for cold drinks and six beach loungers. There are outdoor showers as well as toilet facilities in the club house. The Sandy Lane Hotel water sports facility is adjacent should you wish to water-ski or sail.

Golf
Being on the Sandy Lane Estate, the Old Nine is just 3 mins away from the Villa with the Country Club not more than 5 mins drive and Royal Westmorland a further 15 mins away by car.

Special interest holidays
2009 West Indies v England test series
Anchorge is ideally located for the Test Match & two One Days being played in Barbados at the Kensington Oval which is only 20 minutes away by car.
The Test is from 26 February to 2 March and the One Days are the 27 & 29 March.

Travel
Barbados is served by scheduled services from the UK and Europe by BA from Manchester and London Gatwick. Virgin Airways from Manchester and London Gatwick and BMI from Manchester plus weekly charters (if seats are available) by Excel, First Choice and Thomas Cook. For UK travellers CRC (Carbbean Reunion Club) is a very good Agent. Tel 0207 344 0101.

Booking notes
All reservations are confirmed by email and then a deposit of 25% is required to secure with the balance payment due 6 weeks prior to the arrival date.

Guest comments
I've had three holidays at Anchorage and it just gets better each time. The house is a great place to party, huge space for entertaining or just chilling on the lovely terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. The bedrooms are very comfortable air conditioned and light. Ernesta is a great housekeeper/cook and nothing is too much trouble. An added bonus is the private cabana on the Sandy Lane Property Owners' private beach. Anchorage is a treat. We have had four holidays at the villa, it is an excellent location, easy access to the beach and close to the west coast attractions such as hotels, bars, restaurants, golf courses and tennis. The villa is absolutely fantastic, Ernesta, who runs it and is absolutely delightful….. the rum punches are to die for! It is by far the best holiday we have and we would recommend it to anybody.
