Notes on accommodation
The apartment is located on the top floor of a three storey building (2 short flights of stairs) from which one has uninterrupted views overlooking the old town, the marina and the coast. The double height ceilings are a striking feature that add to the attractiveness and character of the apartment.
The apartment has a floor area of 75 sq. mts., with 2 balconies – one south facing and one west facing. It is very well equipped and finished to a very high standard.
Other features: Italian ceramic tiled floors in kitchen, living area, hallway, balconies and bathrooms. Wooden floors in bedrooms. Air-conditioned for cooling and heating. Video security system, remote controlled gated entrance and car parking. Additional room fan and oil filled heater. Hairdryer, hoover, iron etc. Owners would appreciate that non-smoking policy be respected.
Outside
The apartment has 2 balconies: the south facing balcony off bedroom 1 offers lovely views of the old town and the marina. It is fully equipped with patio furniture and a lovely place to sit and relax in the sun. The west facing balcony opens from the living area and is equipped with a full dining table and chairs for 6 people. The evening sunsets from this balcony, overlooking the boats and the coastline, are magnificent. For those wishing to spend quality time in a peaceful setting you couldn't get better!
Coast/Beach
100m to the coast. Swimming and water sports 250m. All blue flag waters. Bathing areas have been very well designed and are suitable for all ages. The town of Novigrad juts out into the sea and visitors can walk the 'promenade' around the old walls that encircle the town, stopping at one of the many restaurants / coffee shops to enjoy the beautiful views. There are many coastal walks /cycle tracks through the forested paths along the coast.
Travel
The nearest airport is Pula 50 miles south of Novigrad. A newly constructed road links Pula to Novigrad. Trieste (Italy)airport can easily be reached in 75 mins from Novigrad. Ryanair fly from Stansted to these airports. Rijeka airport is serviced by Easyjet from Luton. Travel time from Rijeka to Novigrad is approx. 75 mins. Cars can be hired on airline carrier websites or locally. (Airline websites tend to be cheaper than hiring locally). Terravision operate a bus service from Pula.
Distances
Porec (15km), Rovinj (30km), Trieste (45km). Daily boat excursions operate to Venice (2.15hrs from Porec). Slovenia (20km). The bus station is less than 2 minutes from the apartment. Buses to and from the many towns and cities in Croatia, Italy and Slovenia can be accessed here. Both taxis and cars may be rented locally.

The historic core of the town of Novigrad lies on a promontory that was once an island which was connected with the mainland in the 18th century. The well-preserved town walls are one of the most attractive symbols of this tourist resort. Many different rulers and cultures – from Byzantine, Frankish, German, Venetian, French, and Austro-Hungarian to Italian – have left clear traces in architecture.
For those wishing to self-cater there are a number of top quality local supermarkets, bakeries, wine shops and markets that sell everything for the perfect meal.
The nearby towns of Porec, Vrsar and Rovinj have plenty to offer in terms of interest and beauty. Oprtalj, Groznjan and Motovun, all within half an hour driving time of Novigrad, are also beautiful towns and well worth a visit.
