This cob cottage, recently restored by the architect owner, is attractively furnished with comfy antique furniture and with sea views from the bedrooms. Downstairs is a large open-plan slate floored. Living room/dining/kitchen with a bathroom and an open log fire with unlimited firewood. Upstairs there is a large open beamed bedroom with a romantic brass double bed, another large bedroom with 3 singles and a 3rd with 2 singles and a cot. In all it sleeps seven and a baby and pets are allowed provided they are kept under control. All heating and hot water (electric) is included in the rent. There is parking in the driveway, and a safe grassy garden. 1 mile down the very quiet lane is the sleepy village of Week St Mary with a grocery shop and pub. 6 miles away is the old fashioned seaside town of Bude where there are shops and supermarkets. Nearby there are the safe sandy beaches of Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven; Tintagel, Boscastle and Clovelly.

Living Rooms: A big inglenook fireplace (free firewood), a 2-seater sofa, 2 easychairs, 4 ladder back chairs, an antique settle, a big pine dining table with antique chairs and a bench. Several occasional tables, a highchair and a large Freeview TV.
Other: The large main bedroom has exposed beams, a double brass bed, a painted wardrobe, an antique chest of drawers, thick rugs on a pine floor, several chairs and side tables, and a butter churn.
Other bedrooms are carpetted with chests of drawers.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bring your own towels linen and duvet covers. The property is cleaned between lettings. Please bring all your own food and supplies.

Outside there is a picnic table and benches, there are some deck chairs, an old fashioned barbecue, and a summer house. Alongside there is a barn where you can play table tennis.

Coast/Beach
Nearly all the North Cornwall beaches have lifeguards. Widemouth Bay is a very big and safe sandy beach 3 miles away. Other lovely beaches include Bude, Crackington Haven, and Sandymouth, Welcombe and Duckpool (north of Bude). Surfing is considered very good on this coast.

6 miles to Bude golf course.
7 miles to Holsworthy golf club.
20 miles to Rock golf club.

Special interest holidays
This is the ideal place for walking along the National Trust Coastline, bathing from the many sandy beaches, visiting attractions such as the National Trust properties of Landhydrock and Cotehele, The Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Penhaligen. Further afield you can get to Port Isaac (Doc Martin) and St Ives (Tate Gallery). For the intrepid climb Brown Willy and other nearby peaks.

Travel
Having a car is essential as we are 3 miles from the beach, and 6 from Bude. You can reach Bude by bus from Exeter several times a day.

There are some new restaurants in and near Bude including Life's a Beach 01288 355222 (great views), Elements 01288 352386 (near widemouth), and further afield Fifteen, Jamie Oliver's restaurant at Newquay 0871 3301515. Also several pubs including The Bullers Arms at Marhamchurch.
There is a Trad Jazz festival in Bude in August.
