This charming cottage is situated in the heart of the pretty village of Armathwaite, on the banks of the River Eden. Within a short walk of the property are the village's two shops and two traditional pubs. Armathwaite is a thriving and friendly community which manages to be welcoming whilst remaining unspoilt. Both pubs serve good food and children are welcome. There are many wonderful walks on your doorstep and numerous attractions close by. The village is perfect for exploring the Northern Lakes (Keswick is 35 min, Ullswater 20 min), the wild Northern Pennines (Alston 25 min), Scottish Borders (Hadrian's Wall 40 min) and the lovely Eden Valley itself. The stretch of river that flows south from the village is known as 'Cumbria's best kept secret' and is perfect for walking, canoeing, fly fishing and swimming (weather permitting). The cottage has been thoughtfully restored and stylishly decorated throughout, with exposed wooden beams, quarry tiles and wood burning stove.
