The Gite of La Girode is a very old stone house with character, full of charm, very quiet, authentic, beautiful view, sunny all day, great pool, very large and private garden located at 1 mile of a village with all amenities (Rouffignac). Outside with large park of 1.5ha private completely closed by large hedges and a wild forest against bottom pool 8x4m with small beach immersed ideal for young children, large terrace shaded by trees with a lovely view on the campaign, electric store. Inside at ground floor: a large living room offering with a cosy salon area. The modern fitting makes a lovely contrast with the character of the room with its exposed stones, original beams, large traditional open fireplace and old sink in stone. Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Electricity, water and gas are included during summer. Extra price is requested for the central heating for the others season (price according to the consumption level).
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday during school hollidays but can be another day in another period. Arrival time is between 4-7pm. Departure time is at 10am.

Outside
Outside BBQ, large wood (teck) table with 8 chairs, 4 sun loungers, electric store. The private garden is nearly 3.7 acres large offering you a maximum of privacy and lot of calm surrounded by oaks and chestnuts woodland at the back and all fenced with a large edges on both sides. There are lot of wild flowers, birds, and even deers coming time to time from the wood! The newly built swimming pool is 13x26ft large. There is a deep large step making it ideal for the little ones. Adjacent to the pool and enjoying the wonderful view onto the valley, the terrace area benefits from the natural shadow of the trees.

Special interest holidays
The Dordogne is one of the most beautiful regions of France. The department is named after the river that flows. The Black Perigord is by far the most visited of the Dordogne. Just take any guide to see that the Black Perigord is a concentrated incredible sites inevitable: many prehistoric sites of world renowned (Lascaux, Eyzies), medieval town of Sarlat, castles (Castelnaud, Losse, Beynac, Montfort), Gardens, caves, sumptuous landscapes. The Black Perigord is a constellation of villages, often counted among the most beautiful in France. Many are those where we believe the time arrested the Middle Ages. Rouffignac is an excellent base for visiting the Black Perigord. The main sites are often a few miles from lodging.
Travel
Although located in rural areas, Rouffignac is easily accessible. The new A89 motorway between Brives (19) and Périgueux allows quick access to lodging. The exit is located at Thenon and is around 15 miles far from Rouffignac. The highway A89 is connected to the main cities in France. By plane, the airport Bergerac will allow to the travellers with Ryanair (many connections with the United Kingdom and Belgium), Fly Be (connections with England) and Transavia to come fastly to the gite.

Booking notes
Terms of payment are : 30% of deposit paid at the booking - 70% one month before the renting. If booking is done one month before the renting, the full amount has to be paid at the booking. A returnable deposit of 400 euros to cover the damages is required when you enter at the cottage.
