Villa Agni is situated in Kastri, a small village in the altitude of 360m, in the foothills of Psiloritis mountain. The village was one of the military defense centres of Crete during the Byzantine era and the Venetian occupation. A romantic traveller could easily imagine the Ancient Greek goddess Artemis being worshiped in such a house. Built on the edge of Koukoumianos gorge, it was the owner’s George Hatzidakis, birthplace. The renovation of the house finished in 1995. It is a comfortable, 150 years old house, with elements borrowed from the noble houses of its time.

Rates are tax inclusive, per property in euros and include maid service change towels and linen are changed 2-3 times per week.

Notes on accommodation
The bedrooms are air conditioned and there is huge verandah on the upper floor with view of the mountains. All bedrooms are decorated in style, with elegant curtains, hand-made mirrors, beautifully painted walls. In the gardens you can find a lot of corners for relaxation and calm!

Outside
The outdoor part of the house spreads into 4 acres of terraces, with dense vegetation, a kiosk, paved courtyards, hidden corners and a swimming pool with a view of the mountains and the lush green landscape. You will definitely feel the magic of Cretan nature.
Villa Agni has got all the modern equipment in order to satisfy even the most demanding guest, as well as traditional fireplaces and wooden ovens. The garden, with its organic grown vegetables for your salads, will give you a small taste of the gifts of the Cretan land.
You can take a walk outside through the friendly village and admire the unique architecture of the place as well as the nature.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach of Panormo lies at a distance of 15 km, it is sandy and offers many opportunities for water sports. There are also quiet locations for guests to enjoy the beach without being annoyed by nearby jet-skiers or water-skiers. The sandy beach of Bali offers you a second choice for your swim near the area. There are plenty of beautiful beaches in the area also!
Travel
There are some interesting excursions you can go in Kastri, Melidoni and the outskirts. The distances and routes are shown on the map in the webpage.
Distances
The nearest airport of Heraklion (HER) is located 70 km east of the villa, while the port of Rethymnon lies at a distance of 39 km.
The airport of Chania (CHQ) is another 100km to the west, that is a 1 hour 30 mins drive. A car rental can be arranged to pick you up at the airport and drive you to your villa. Perama is at a distance of 10 km and the traditional village of Panormo with the beautiful restaurants near the sea is at a distance of 15 km/20 mins drive!

Local convenience stores, supermarkets and banks, post office and doctors can be found in Perama, 10 km away from the villa 15 mins drive.
Booking notes
In order to confirm a reservation, a deposit of 50% is required. As soon as payment is made, you will receive a receipt for your deposit along with an official confirmation letter, your villa's brochure and maps.
Remaining balance is settled at least one month prior to arrival or on arrival.
Full refund applies for cancellations made at least two-three months prior to arrival, based on date and availability.
