Oceans of natural light enter this lovely 2 bedroom villa through numerous windows and patio doors, all offering you the choice of curtains or screening. You can enjoy sea views from every room. Everything in the villa is virtually brand new and is to the highest standard with a fresh, modernist design. Floors are tiled throughout and softened by the occasional accent rug. There is a large, tiled patio just a few paces from the pool and a balcony with pergola, accessible from both bedrooms. The patio and balcony also have sea views. There is a fully tiled family bathroom upstairs and a cloakroom with shower downstairs. A separate, lockable storage area is provided for your bulkier items such as suitcases, golf bags and water sports equipment. You enter Gennadi Court from the street leading to the village centre, which is less than a minute's walk away. The beach and sea frontage restaurants are a 6 minutes walk from the villa.

Changeover day
We can be flexible over the day of your changeover, but check out time is normally 10am. Charter flights tend to be on Wednesdays & Saturdays. EasyJet operates direct scheduled flights and you can travel via Athens, 365 days per year.

Accommodation

 

Notes on accommodation
No smoking and no pets. Although a small folding bed is provided, there are no other facilities addressing infant comfort or safety. For example, there are no 'gates' at the top or bottom of the staircase and the patio has direct and ready access to the large communal pool.

Amenities/Facilities provided

 

Accessibility
No specific features are incorporated to assist persons with mobility problems, but downstairs is fully open plan with sofa beds and shower room/toilet. The shower room does not have wheelchair access, although wheelchairs can easily pass through either of the 2 patio doors.

Outside
Patio and balcony with high grade, white composite material table, chairs and sun loungers provided. Gennadi Court is a private development of 3 villas and 12 apartments set in landscaped grounds and arranged around a shared 13x6m pool.

Coast/Beach
Gennadi beach is only 500m away. It takes 5 to 7 minutes on foot. Swimming here is easy and very safe with access to the sea from gently sloping beaches. The beaches are a sand/shingle mix and stretch for miles to the North and South. There are some great restaurants with boardwalks leading straight onto the sand and a Water Sports centre operates from the beach.

Golf
Afandou Golf Club is about 40 mins drive. It is a very well laid-out and mature course with no 'Mickey Mouse' holes. It offers an interesting challenge to golfers of all levels. Club and cart rental is available. 18 hole green fees are around 35 euro in the Season. The condition of the course, however is best described as like a mediocre UK Municipal course. We want you to have a great holiday, so please do not book with us if you're looking to base your leisure activities around golf.

Travel
Rhodes Diagoras airport is around 40 mins away by car. Gennadi is a vibrant village with very good bus links to virtually anywhere. Once in Gennadi, there is no need for a car or motorbike. If you want to rent something and tour the Island, the major roads are excellent, many having been resurfaced in 2006/07. Vehicle rental companies operate from Gennadi. You can also 'Island Hop' from Rhodes Port and even go on a day trip to Turkey by ferry or hydrofoil!

Further details
Greeks live in Gennadi 365 days a year, so many of its amenities stay open all year round. Its temperate winter climate offers the realistic possibility of late and early season holidays. Gennadi's centre is less than 100m from the villa. There you will find an excellent supermarket with a butcher's and deli counter. To the right is a large Pharmacy and the start of one of Gennadi's restaurant-lined streets. To the left is a fantastic bakery and next door to that, a gorgeous little grocery selling locally grown fruit and veg. Just down from the supermarket is an Internet Cafe and a 24 hour ATM. As previously mentioned, once you are in Gennadi you absolutely do not need transportation as all amenities are there in the village. Gennadi is close to Prassonissi, a beach location famous for the meeting of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. It is also one of Europe's top venues for windsurfing and wind sailing. Some of the sport is 'extreme'!
Rhodes has a very sophisticated and up-market element, being regularly visited by celebrities such as Roman Abramovitch. At the other end of the spectrum, it has isolated beaches, mountains and pine forests where you can truly escape from the hustle and bustle of 'civilised' life. We say you don't need transportation, but you also really should visit Rhodes Town (Old and New) and Lindos. You can catch a bus from Gennadi's main square and go to both venues. The buses are plentiful and reliable. Taxis are also available and turn out to be very cheap, especially when shared by 4 or 5 of you.

Booking notes
A non refundable 25% deposit is payable to the owners at the time of booking and settlement in full is required 8 weeks before arrival. A refundable deposit of 100 pounds sterling is required as security against damage caused to fixtures and fittings during your stay, or excessive cleaning. This is returned in full if there are no issues. If you're coming on a 'last minute' basis, we accept payment in full, in Euros when you receive the keys.
