Two cosy traditional style houses next to each other on the mountainside with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Como. The larger of the 2 houses (Bella Una) sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. There is a reverse level open plan living room/kitchen dining area with wood burning stove, an entertainment system(Sat TV with DVD/CD cinema surround sound) - this room takes full advantage of the lake views. On the ground floor there are 3 bedrooms. 2 doubles, a third with bunk bed and a bathroom with shower. To the rear off the living area is a covered terrace, ideal for alfresco dining with access to the large garden and pool. The smaller house sleeps up to 4 people with reverse level open plan living room/kitchen and dining area with a unique stone fireplace. The room takes full advantage of the views and has Sat TV with DVD player. On the ground floor there is a master bedroom, a second twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The large garden has a pool with deck.

Kitchen: Large house: large 6 burner stainless steel gas/electric cooker, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer. Smaller house: 4 burner gas hob, electric oven, fridge.
Living Rooms: Larger house: open-plan room with 4 seater corner sofa, large bean bag. LCD TV with Sat receiver. DVD/CD player with cinema surround sound. Dining area with seating for 6-8.
Smaller house: open-plan room with 3 seater sofa. Dining area with 4 seats.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
There's a final cleaning of 120 euros for 1 week stay and 150 euros for 2 weeks stay. All bedlinen and towels included. Towels and bedlinen will be refreshed after 1 week. All utility usage such as water, electricity and gas are included in rental price

 

Notes on accommodation
The property has full gas central heating for winter stays. The smaller house has an open fire and the larger house has a wood burning stove. Both properties have spiral stairs.

Accessibility
The properties have not been adapted for people with mobility problems. Both properties have spiral stairs and the surrounding grounds is rugged. Given the properties mountainside location with houses tucked away within a wooded natural reserve. Access is via a steep and winding track for approx 1 mile, the main part is tarmac and an unmade section for the last section (approx 300m) it is advisable to arrive during daylight hours to be able to fully familiarise yourself with the roadway.

Outside
One of the special features of these properties is the garden which surround the 2 houses. The front area is directly accessible for the front bedrooms and the garden at the rear is accessible from the living rooms. There is a large paved terrace, partially covered with a BBQ, wooden tables and chairs with seating for up 10 people. The garden is terraced and is surrounded by woodland. In the garden there is a private swimming pool (unheated) measuring 7.5m x 3.9m with a large wooden deck area with up to 6 sun loungers.

Coast/Beach
Lake Como is some 15 minutes away - the closest lakeside town Menaggio. The lake offers a comprehensive ferry system and water taxis that can swiftly take you across the lake to Bellagio and Varenna.

Golf
Menaggio Golf Club is some 20 minutes away and offers excellent facilities and golfing.

Travel
Milan Airports are readily accessible with Malpensa being some 1.25 hours away and Bergamo some 1.5 hours away. It is essential to hire a car from the airport, we would recommend arrival to the property in daylight hours due to it's rural/mountain location.

Distances
Plesio is the nearest village some 10 minutes (approx 3km) which has a General Store for basic essentials, post office and some restaurants. Menaggio is 15 minutes away (approx 8km), which has a full range of shops, a supermarket, restaurants and general facilities for all your needs.

Further details
Menaggio is a very popular lakeside resort which gives access by ferries to other areas of Lake Como. Menaggio has banks, restaurants, bars, gift shops, tourist information office, hospital, golf course, cinema, crazy Golf and many other facilities. Switzerland's Lake Lugano is approx 30 minutes away with the town of Lugano less than 1 hour. Ski resorts such as Madesimo (Italy) and Moritz (Switzerland) are approx 1.5 hours.
