Riad Marrakech Our rooms are named after the beautiful native Moroccan flowers and trees that butterflies love to visit for their beauty and nectar. They are decorated and coloured using Tadelakt, Zelige from the city of Fez, Bajmat tiles and traditionally made Marrakech metalwork and woodwork. Available to rent, Marrakesh Riad Papillon may be occupied as a whole for a birthday, wedding or family party where bookings allow. Notes on prices
Prices are per room per night. Prices are reduced as we have just renovated and are not yet full. Price includes a moroccan breakfast and welcome drink with traditional Moroccan biscuits. Additional sofabed or popup bed can be used in some rooms. for an additional £25 per person.
Changeover day
We are very flexible-if your flight arrives at 7am then provided the room is vacated and cleaned we are happy for you to use the room as soon as you arrive. Similarly when departing we would usually allow visitors to use the room until we absolutely need
Notes on accommodation
Rooms are cleaned daily with our trustworthy staff. Linens changed after each stay up to 7 days. Towels changed on demand. We encourage responsible use of water and energy. Laundry can be done by our staff at extra charge and dry cleaning and ironing can likewise be done pretty quickly. To save energy we try to use the sun for drying. Delicates can be hand washed. The Bougainvillea Room is located on the garden patio overlooking the pretty dipping pool with own seating area adjacent to pool where our mouth watering breakfast can be served if you so desire. The bed is located on a raised platform and separated from the sitting area and shower room by a romantic voile curtain that can be drawn to create further privacy which is especially convenient if you are a party of 3.
Accessibility
We have tried to make the Riad as accessible as possible for visitors with mobility problems. The ground floor rooms will be accessible with some assistance as will the courtyard garden. However the terrace and Bhou require mounting stairs that whilst relatively wide could pose a problem for someone with mobility problems. The Riad itself is very accessible to a wheelchair user as the taxi rank is a short distance from the Riad. We are keen to offer whatever help we can.

Small dipping pool approximately 3x2.3m. Private for guests of Riad. Courtyard garden and garden on roof top. Small fountain on rooftop. Misting system that drops temperatures by 20 degrees in hot summers. BBQ. Courtyard garden with three seating areas. Terrace with BBQ, kitchen, fountain, seating areas, solarium and raised dining area. B'hou sitting room with beautiful open fireplace. Juiliette balcony seating area for two on first floor with view of courtyard.
Coast/Beach
The coast is about 2 hours away from our Riad. You can arrange to stay at our Riad and then have a day or two in a lovely Riad in Essouirra or another of the coastal town returning for your flight home to Marrakech. This trip can be arranged by us for you or you can book once in Marrakech.
Golf
Many very good golf courses within 15-25 minutes from riad. Easily accessible by cheap taxi ride or your own car.
Skiing
Ski resort is about 45-60 mins from Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains.
Special interest holidays
You may enjoy learning to cook whilst in Marrakech, belly dancing, Arabic language classes and photography or painting classes can be arranged either as a group or on an individual basis. Personal shopping tours can be arranged as can sessions with individual crafts people for those who want to learn a little more about Moroccan culture and crafts.
Travel
Menara airport in Marrakech is only 10 minutes from your Riad. The Riad is very accessible by car as the taxi rank is only a few hundred yards from the Riad door.
Distances
Marrakech centre called the Place J'ma El Fna is very close to your Riad- a leisurely stroll of 10 minutes. Safe in the day or at night as our area is near to the Pasha Palace.
Further details
The souks are a few moments away and to get to the place Jma El Fna you will walk through the shade that the souks provide. There are small shops at the top of the Derb Tazoukarine and a fresh organic market daily is about 4 minutes walk from the riad. A supermarket (pretty much like a medium sized sainsburys-selling everything at european prices) is a 10 minute taxi ride from the riad. Banks are at airport and at Place J'ma El F'na. Many souks, restaurants and shops so not accept credit cards so it is useful to have some dhirrams with you for everyday needs. Our riad accepts credit cards, debit cards, cheques by post and cash. There are so many things to do in Marrakech and its surroundings-our staff have a wealth of information and are happy to advise you on activities and excursions to suit your needs. There is no need for a guide in Marrakech unless you feel that you really want one or feel anxious about not speaking/understanding French or Arabic. In this case we are happy to find you an official english speaking guide who will have a clear arrangement with you regarding his duties and payment. Because the guides we use are known to us you will be safe and not hassled to buy a carpet from his uncle's bazaar or to pay an additional fee because it is a Saturday etc!

Call 07968 063227 to book. We can take cheques, PayPal or credit cards. A deposit of 50% of the full amount is due to make the reservation. The full amount can then be paid at least 30 days in advance. Enquiries can be made on our website including specific requests.
