The apartment is on the second floor of a low 3 storey block. There is a lift and plenty of parking space. There is good sized swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and a tasteful bar, serving delcious snacks and light meals with live entertainment on Saturdays. Most of the apartments are privately owned. There are no tour operators in the building. You will mostly have the swimming pool to yourselves. You are in a prime location just 5 minutes walk from the old fishing town of Alvor, with its authentic cobbled streets, and lots of restaurants and bars, but no noisy disco's. This is a family and couples resort. No gangs of teenagers. Your location is not near the bars so it is peaceful at night. One of the best beaches in Alvor is just 5 to 7 minutes on the flat. It really couldn't be a better spot. A number of international golf courses within minutes. The Alto and The Penina. A fully equipped golf shop with equipment to hire and advice on the on site of the apartment.

Changeover day
To help you to get the best flight deals we do not specify a changeover day. You can usually go straight into the apartment upon arrival and on the day of departure stay until you ready to leave. However, should someone be leaving on the day you arrive

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with double bed. TV (Portuguese channels). Powerful fan. Also portable oil heater. Full length fitted mirrored wardrobe.
Bathrooms: En-suite with bath/shower over, wc, bidet, overhead electrical heating.
There is a 2nd fully equipped bathroom off the hall and sitting room.
Kitchen: Full cooker, large fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, coffee making machine. Iron, ironing board
Utility Room: No utility room but there are drying facilities on the main balcony and a tumble dryer incorporated in the washing machine.
Living Rooms: Very large lounge with two substantial bed-settees. One can be made into a double, the other a large single. TV (Portuguese channels), DVD/CD player. Full dining room suite of high quality coffee table. Two powerful fans. Portable oil heater.
Other: Large entrance hall. Fitted mirrored wardrobes with plenty of hanging space. Hall cupboard. Ring clip folder with information about apartment, operation of washing machine etc., and holiday information.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen included (except beach towels). Property cleaned weekly when bed linen and towels are changed. Please use washing machine in-between.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is plenty of parking space outside the apartment in front of the shops (not in front of The Al Dente Restaurant, they will ask you to move).

Accessibility
A wheelchair can be used There is a llift and doors of the apartment are wide enough. I have had to use wheelchair when there.

Outside
A shared swimming pool, but as the apartments are all privately owned you will mostly have it to yourselves. A decent size for swimming. Sunbeds.
Main Balcony overlooking farmland and the sea beyond. Equipped with table chairs and umbrella. Drying rack for washing. A second balcony off the bedroom overlooking cobbled area with palm trees. Suitable for small table and chair. A good escape if you want to be alone.

Coast/Beach
One of the best beaches in Alvor is just 5 to 7 minutes on the flat. There are numerous beach cafes. Lots of sunbeds for hire and all the usual beach activities. The beach is so beautiful and vast there are still many quiet corners and it rarely gets overcrowded. You can stroll down to the harbour and watch the local fishermen bring in their catch at about 10am and at lunchtime enjoy a meal of sardines or whatever fish you enjoy with the locals cleaning the fish and BBQ'ing. It's great.

Golf
A number of top class courses within easy reach. The Alto is just minutes away. The Championship Penina, The Palmares and Morgado do Reguendo about 20 minutes drive. The Boa-Vista 30 minutes drive.
There is a professional golf shop on site of the apartment and Roger who is english and an experinced golfer of 54 years can give you all the information you need and if necessary make your bookings and advise you of special offers available. All golfing equipment is available for hire should you need to.

Travel
From Faro Airport 45minutes to 1 hour maximum. Easy route on motorway no congestion. Car hire not essential, but desirable if you want to tour around. Should you not to drive I can arrange reliable transfer at 50 euros per party of four each way. This is the going rate.

Distances
5 minutes walk from the old fishing town of Alvor, with its many restaurants, bars and interesting shops. 20 minutes from Lagos a bigger place with a yatching harbour. 45 minutes from Monchique a mountain town, almond and orange trees abound as do grape vines. Worth a visit. Not commercialised.

Further details
Banks and cash machines in Alvor. Portimao 10 minutes drive is bigger with a better selection of banks and shops, but it is industrial. Local shop Isobbella on site., opens 9am good for fresh bread for breakfast. Closes 1pm until 3pm. The Ali Supermarket 3 minutes walk but not very good. If you have transport try Modelo or L'Elecec both in Portimao big supermarkets with everything.

Booking notes
£100 deposit on booking. The remainder due 8 weeks prior to departure.
Joana our english speaking friend works in the estate agency on site. She will give you the keys and you will have her mobile no. should you encounter any problems during your stay.
