This lovely very large south facing apartment has 2 bedrooms, both with patio doors onto a balcony overlooking the swimming pool, small paddling pool, and gardens. The apartment's very spacious, airy, cool and comfortable when it's hot outside. The lounge has two patio doors onto the balcony, and more patio doors onto a large private covered terrace ready for alfresco dining. It has a glass-topped 8 seat dining table, 2 sofas (1 sofa bed), chairs, TV/DVD with English language channels (Sky News, Eurosport and a kids channel), and an IPod dock. The terrace overlooking the pool and gardens has a patio table with 6 chairs, sun loungers, coffee table, chairs, and BBQ. Fully fitted kitchen, with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and full range of utensils and equipment. There's a rooftop terrace with lovely sea views and there's a secure underground car park. The town's bars, restaurants, shops and beach are 5-6 minutes walk. Nearest supermarket 400 yards.

We're totally flexible with changeover days and length of stay. Check the availability calendar - it's up to date. Unless otherwise agreed lets are from 4pm. on arrival until 10am. on departure, although we'll be as accommodating as we can if possible.

Plus second fully-tiled bathroom for the main property with shower, WC and sink. 2 hairdryers available.
Kitchen: Fully-fitted kitchen;- gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, iron/ironing board, and all crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment necessary to cater for a large family. Door leads to private terrace.
Utility Room: Washing machine and dishwasher in kitchen.
Living Rooms: Large, luxurious living room with 2 patio doors onto the balcony overlooking the pool, and sliding patio doors to the covered terrace. Glass-topped dining table (seats 8), 2 sofas (1 sofabed), chairs. CD, iPod player, TV/DVD (English language channels).
Other: Large private terrace from lounge and kitchen with table and chairs for 6, sun loungers, seats, table. Separate balcony from both bedrooms and lounge. Highchairs/cots/fans free on request. 2 hairdryers. Underground secure garage. Rooftop terrace.

linen/maid service:
Clean linen, towels (sorry, not beach towels), final clean, welcome pack, and meet and greet included. Weekly clean and towel/linen change is available on request at cost.

 

Notes on accommodation
As it's exceptionally large and airy, and with the living room having 3 patio doors, and both bedrooms and the kitchen each having 1 patio door, to the balcony or terrace, the apartment is extremely cool and comfortable when it's hot outside during the day or in the evenings. Room fans available and central heating for winter months. CD player and iPod dock in lounge. This apartment is especially suitable for children, having a small paddling pool in the quiet, safe and completely secure grounds of the complex, while being just a few minutes' walk away from one of the loveliest beaches on the Algarve. Cots and highchairs available on request. The sleeping accommodation is very flexible - in addition to the double and two twin beds, there is a choice of further bedding i.e. two extra double airbeds, a single fold-up bed, or the double sofabed - just let us know your preferences. For our guests' comfort we are strictly no smoking.

Accessibility
Wheelchair access is via a ramp into the block and apartment, and all parts of the apartment are wheelchair-accessible, except for access to the roof terrace which has steps leading up, and the pool which has steps down to the gardens (although the condo management will provide us with keys for the garden gate for disabled guests to access the gardens and pool area). Equipment like electric wheelchairs, buggies etc can be hired locally (we can give you the website of a local hire company).

Outside
Our apartment overlooks the completely secure, safe, quiet and peaceful lawned gardens with fig, nut and other trees surrounding the lovely large, crystal-clear swimming pool and small children's paddling pool for private use of residents of the complex. Beach equipment, such as beach mats, parasols, fold-up chairs, snorkels etc are available for use on request. There is also a communal rooftop terrace with views over the town, the bay, the nearby nature reserve, and the beach which at its closest is about 500-600m away.

Coast/Beach
Armacao's at the western end of one of the longest and most beautiful beaches on the Algarve, stretching over two miles. All usual beach facilities and activities are available, and the eastern end of the beach backs onto dunes and the Salgados Nature reserve with 4 sq.m. of lagoons and rich flora and waterfowl. From the apartment, the closest part of the beach and the Nature reserve is about 5-6 minutes' walk away, and the 'town' beach is about 10.

Golf
Armacao is right in the centre of the Algarve so all the famous courses east and west are easily reached within 30 minutes' drive. With over 20 nearby courses there's a superb variety of year-round golfing. Salgados Links and Gramacho are the closest courses, both just a few minutes away by car. Most of the courses have websites through which you can book tee-off times and hire clubs to avoid having to bring your own clubs on your flight.

Our local course, Salgados Links, is right in the middle of the lovely nature reserve near the apartment, so has plenty of natural lagoon water hazards to negotiate.

Vale de Milho Golf Course is a lovely 9 hole course designed by Dave Thomas the Ryder Cup player and is 6km away. Carvoeiro (2 courses) and Penina (3) are 10-15 minutes' drive west and the 11 international courses at Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago, and Val de Lobo are about 20 minutes' drive east.

Special interest holidays
Since we have owned Vila Nova, we have had lots of returning guests, so we now have a loyalty program with discounts for returning guests which gives 10% - 15% discount off advertised prices.

Travel
Faro airport is 30-40 mins away by car. A taxi costs approximately €40-50 (per size of taxi) each way from the airport. A car isn't necessary as all local facilities are within easy walking distance and public transport is good to other resorts along the coast, but if you wish to explore the coast and the hilly rural hinterland, car hire is very cheap in Portugal, and we can recommend car hire or taxi companies that we have used if you'd like.

Distances
The apartment is close to 2 large water parks including the Algarve's famous Aqualand, (the free Aqualand bus service runs from near the apartment). There are many other attractions close by including Zoo Marina, and the Algarve Shopping Centre in Guia, with shops, cinemas, bowling and restaurants, close to the village of Guia famed for its many Chicken Piri Piri restaurants. Albufeira is about 10kms away, Portimao 15kms, and Silves (with its Moorish castle) 10kms.

Further details
When you arrive, we'll provide a welcome pack which will include a bottle of wine, a few beers, some teabags and milk, bottled water, along with bread, butter, jam, and cheese. If you have kids there'll be some pop in the fridge too. The apartment will have been cleaned and everything checked. We provide towels for use in the apartment, but please bring your own beach towels. Water, gas and electricity is included (in October to March reasonable electricity usage included). An up-to-date information booklet will be emailed to you upon receipt of your enquiry (and posted to you before you travel) with useful information and links relevant to your stay at Vila Nova. There are several supermarkets within 5/10 minutes walk, as well as the town's many shops, banks/ATMs, and usual facilities. Also within a few minutes' walk are various nightclubs and many, many bars and restaurants in the town and beachfront, including a selection of Chinese, Indian, Italian, as well as local fish restaurants for which Armacao is well known (caught locally and landed at Fishermans Beach).
