The townhouse is in a secluded position but just a few steps from one of the 3 shared heated pools with separate children's pool. This house is tastefully furnished in a contemporary style and a short walk from the first tee, driving range and clubhouse. The resort also has tennis courts, a children's play area and a 5* Marriott Hotel with health spa within walking distance. Praia del Rey beach is stunning and great for sunbathing and walks. Nearby beautiful Obidos Lagoon is ideal for water sports and Baleal for surfing. Praia Del Rey is located within a short distance of the magnificent medieval walled town of Obidos, steeped in history and an essential visit for cultural and dining experiences! In addition, Caldas da Rainha with its daily market and the fishing village of Peniche with its many fish restaurants are a short drive from the resort.

Notes on accommodation
There is gas central heating plus de-humidifiers. Prices include gas and electricity, but where consumption is more than normal for the season, clients will be asked to pay the difference. The resort is excellent for golfers or non-golfers and children. A cot is available on request free of charge. No smoking in the townhouse please.

Outside
The townhouse is situated in an exclusive gated development which is great for children who can run freely around the grounds. Immediately to the rear of the house is a large covered and furnished terrace just a few steps from the fabulous pool area so you can keep an eye on the kids but secluded enough that you can dine or sunbathe in relative privacy. In addition there is a large lawned area perfect for sunbathing and ball games. A large trunk on the terrace is also full of inflatables, body boards etc to keep the kids entertained. Ample parking is located at the front. The pool and surrounding area comprises beautifully tended gardens and lawned areas. Perfect for total relaxation.
Coast/Beach
The local Praia Del Rey beach stretches for miles in both directions from the resort and is excellent for sunbathing, walking and surfing. It's a ten minute walk from the property and there are two parking areas for beach access. The local beach is patrolled during the peak season and a lifeguard is based at the beach access beneath the Marriott Hotel. The beach also has a small snack bar where you can buy drinks, ice creams, snacks etc.
Golf
Praia D’El Rey Golf and Beach Resort, on the Portuguese Silver Coast, has just been awarded Golf Resort of the Year 2007 - Europe awarded by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators. The Praia Del Rey 18 hole par 72 championship links course was designed by American architect Cabell B. Robinson, listed as Portugal's best course in the 2002/2003 Peugeot Golf Guide and rated 13th Best Continental Europe golf course by Golf World magazine. The course is set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic. With nine holes wending through the pine trees and nine hugging the Atlantic cliffs Praia D’El Rey is a demanding test where the premium is on accuracy – don’t expect to finish your round with the ball you started with! With Golden Eagle, Penha Longa and Oitavos about an hour from Praia D'El Rey this is a great base for a golfing holiday.

Peniche (15 minutes). Fishing port with seafood restaurants, boats to Berlenga Island. Quad bikes in summer months.

Further details
There is a local shop on the resort which caters for essentials. In Serra de'l Rey, the nearest town has a small supermarket with larger supermarkets a short drive away in Obidos and Peniche.
Keep the kids entertained at Club Aventura which provides exciting activities to try such as body boarding and surfing, quad biking and paintball. Younger guests can join in the fun at the Marriott Hotel kids club.
