A beautiful, 4 bedroom (sleeps 8) semi-detached villa adjacent to the 10th fairway of the stunning Praia d'el Rey golf course. Furnished to a high standard, the villa has a large open plan living room, fully equipped kitchen, outside terrace with BBQ and a sports pack for guests' use. Situated in a quiet but central location, it is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach, five star Marriott and clubhouse. In addition to golf, the resort also boasts a 7 court tennis centre, children’s playground, large unspoilt sandy beaches and a luxury spa and health centre. Kids clubs are also available during the high season at the Marriott hotel and during most school holidays at Clube Aventura. Off-site, you can head to the Obidos lagoon for sailing and windsurfing or Baleal for surfing schools. There are a number of towns and historic sites within easy driving distance. Obidos, a World Heritage Site, is only 15 minutes drive away, while Lisbon with all its attractions, is only an hour away.

Changeover day
Changeover day in high season is preferably Saturday, however this is flexible during all other times.

Accessibility
There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor and a ground floor bathroom. There is one step down to the lounge from the hallway.
Outside
Large wooden table and 8 chairs. 3 sun loungers are provided for use around the pool. Brick built barbecue. Large shared pool within 15m of house. Pool has sun all day and views straight onto the 10th fairway.
Coast/Beach
The local beach is an easy 5 minute stroll from the house. The beach stretches for miles in both directions and is unspoilt, clean and quiet. A section is life-guarded in the high season. There are calmer waters nearby at the Obidos lagoon 10 minutes drive, ideal for water sports and paddling children. The lagoon is open to the sea but free from the Atlantic waves. Baleal 10 minute drive in the other direction is home to local surfing schools. It also has a calmer beach for children.
Golf
The award winning Praia del Rey golf course has been voted No.1 in Portugal and 13th. in Europe by Golf World with its spectacular views and challenging holes. Reduced green fees can be obtained if booked in advance with a golf agent. Lessons are available for all ages and abilities. Proof of handicap is required to play the course. The clubhouse and first tee are only a 5 minute walk from the villa. There are a number of other courses situated within 30-60 minutes drive.
Travel
Praia d'el Rey is an easy 1 hour drive from Lisbon airport and about 2.5 hours from Porto. We will provide directions from/to Lisbon airport. Car hire essential.
Distances
The medieval town of Obidos - World Heritage Site - is only a 15 minute drive with many interesting craft shops, restaurants and bars. The fishing village of Peniche is also 15 mins drive away - you can catch a boat to Berlenga Island (National Reserve) from there. Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, with its many attractions is an hours drive away as are the beautiful towns of Cascais and Sintra. Caldas da Rainha, 25 mins drive, provides some good shopping and has a daily open air market.

The 5 star Marriott Hotel offers several restaurants, bars, gym, health spa, indoor and outdoor pools and kids club in high season. The Clubhouse has a pro shop, bar, formal and informal menus, and a spacious terrace with superb views. Clube Aventura outdoor activity centre offers paint-balling, quad biking, orienteering, surfing and archery for older children. The tennis academy offers lessons on its 7 courts. Nearby there is cycle hire, horse riding, diving, karting, a water slide park, deep sea fishing and surfing.There is a small convenience store and ATM on site with larger supermarkets in Serra d'el Rey, Obidos and Peniche.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required to confirm a booking. The outstanding balance is due 8 weeks before departure. A security deposit of £250 will also be required at the time the outstanding balance is paid. This will be sent back to you in full within two weeks of your departure providing no damage has occurred.
