Situated in the grounds of the Penina Golf course and near the tennis courts, the villa is surrounded by its own mature gardens. The terraces and barbecue area make it most attractive for outdoor holiday style living. Other than the hotel facilities there are several restaurants in the near by countryside, and both the market town of Portimao and the small resort of Alvor are within a 10 minute drive away.

Changeover day
Preferred change over day is Saturday but this may be flexible out of the peak/high seasons. Arrival at villa should not be before 1400 hours to give the maids time to clean. You may leave your cases any time after 1000 hours. Departure time 1000 hours.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has a double bed, a walk-in wardrobe and french doors to the terrace. Bedroom 2 has twin beds set together and cupboards lining an entrance hallway. Bedroom 3 has single beds set at right angles to each other and cupboards line the entrance. |
| Bathrooms: | All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Each is equipped with a bath tub with hand shower, basin, bidet and loo. In addition bathroom 1 has a separate shower cubicle. Both bathrooms 1 and 2 have double basins. All have heaters. |
| Kitchen: | Well equipped with gas cooker (4 burners and oven), large fridge, separate deep freeze, microwave and dishwasher. There is a small table and chairs. |
| Utility Room: | A short corridor off the kitchen contains the washing machine and drier. |
| Living Rooms: | The spacious comfortable sitting room is divided into sections. An area round the chimney piece with music centre, an upright piano in one corner, small pool table, another grouping of sofa and armchairs round the TV (Portuguese satellite, DVD and video). |
| Other: | There is a separate dining room with dining table and chairs for 8 people. There is a locked office/store room for staff use only. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
The housekeeper or her assistant will give a brief daily clean, except on Sundays or National holidays. The house bedlinen will be change once a week; towels twice if found dirty. Pool/beach towels are not supplied. |
Notes on accommodation
The villa is on one level. There are steps up to the front door and then the interior accommodation is on the level. There is a step down from the terrace to the poolside lawn. There is an alarm system and a small safe. There are mosquito screens on nearly all the windows. There is a large car port for 3 cars and a table tennis table. Children are welcome.
Outside
The villa is set in its own large lawned garden, bordered with mature trees and shrubs. The large blue tiled swimming pool is 11 x 6m, is for the sole use of the guests. It is not deep so suitable for non swimmers. It is only 1.1m with built-in steps at the shallow end and 1.3m at the deep end. This also means it is warmer than pools with deeper water. There is a changing room and loo hidden beneath a leafy canopy on the far side of the pool. There is an attractive shaded area with dining facilties beside the built-in barbecue and bread oven. The sitting room has sliding glass doors opening onto a long covered terrace which is furnished for outside meals.
Coast/Beach
The long soft sandy beach of Alvor, extending along to Tres Irmaos, is about a 10 minute drive away to the east. Then the Meia Praia beach, also beautifully soft and sandy is on the west side but perhaps 20 minutes further. Both beaches have bars and restaurants and sun canopies for hire.
Golf
The first tee of the famous Penina golf course is just beyond the poolside lawn, but it is mostly hidden by trees and the boundary is fenced. Then there are several more courses within a 30 minute drive, Palmares and Bela Vista to the west, Morgado to the north and those at Carvoeiro to the east.
Travel
Faro is the nearest airport (50 minute drive along the A22 motorway). Some people fly into Lisbon and spend a few days there as part of their holiday, driving down to the Algarve takes 2.5 - 3 hours. A car is essential at this villa.
Distances
Market and fishing port of Portimao 6kms. Alvor resort and fishing village 4kms. Lagos market historic town 12kms. The hills on Monchique (with Pir-piri chicken restaurants!) and top most peak of Foia are a pleasant 45 minute drive; the Castle at Silves the same. The west coast beaches and westerly point of Cape St Vincent, near Sagres make a different day out.
Further details
There are 2 stores/hypermarkets within 5 minutes drive of the villa. There are banks and chemists in Portimao, Alvor or Lagos and even in the small, more local town of Mexilhoeira Grande, which is only a 5 minute drive. Fishing and coastal sightseeing boat trips may be arranged along the quay front in Portimao.
Booking notes
When we confirm the availability of the villa we will hold it for you for about 3 days. Then on your confirmation we request you complete a booking form and send 25% of the rent as a deposit. This is non-returnable unless we are able to re-let the villa. The balance of rent is then payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. There will be a returnable damage deposit payable on arrival.
