This beautiful country estate has always been in the Luz family. The guest house has been recently rebuilt, redesigned and refurnished by the present owner who is an interior decorator. Comfort, light and harmony are the keynotes of this spacious two-floor building. There is a large outdoor swimming pool (11m x 5.5m), barbecue area for 20 people, extensive gardens and a ping-pong table. Vegetables and fruit are grown organically on the farm, which guests may purchase. There is parking within the property. There are many beautiful beaches within 20 to 30 minutes drive. The whole area is a golfers paradise, with 5 world class courses nearby. Also there is horse riding, wind-surfing and tennis, and the Sintra hills are ideal for walking and exploring. If you are a bridge player the owner would be happy to set up a game for you. We have two very gentle dogs. No smoking in the guest house please.

Notes on accommodation
The pool is quite deep and so we require that children swim well and are under constant survellance by their parents. The house has a log burning stove and electric night storage heaters in all rooms. This as an old house with thick walls and so is quite cool without air conditioning.

Accessibility
The guest house is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
The whole quinta is a beautiful setting. Lord Byron would have been impressed! The gardens are extensive and guests may just ramble on the domain. The pool is large (11m x 5,5m) and is in a lovely lawn area. We have sun loungers for 4. The pool is shared with the main house but the owners are rarely at the pool. There is a large barbecue area for 20 people. The guest house itself also has a private patio with garden furniture and barbecue.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of the Estoril coast, such as Cascais and Guincho are within 12km and the Atlantic coast beaches such as Adraga, Praia Grande, Magoito are between 15 and 20 kilometers. These beaches are all very full in the summer so we recommend that you go very early or later in the day.
Golf
There are several golf courses within the area, the Penha Longa, 8km, the Beloura, 6km, the Estoril, 11km, and the Quinta da Marinha and Estoril Sol 12km.

Travel
Lisbon Airport is within 15km from the quinta, and we are well placed for road transport access. The train station from Lisbon is 2km away.
Distances
The quinta is well placed as it is near Lisbon (15km), Cascais and Estoril 12km, and Sintra, World Heritage site, 7km.
Further details
There are many amenities within the environs. There is a village shop, and there are several supermarkets nearby. There is a bank within 3,5km. Lisbon is a colourful city, with many old parts, the Gulbenkian Museum and many others. It is a lively city for concerts and dining out. Estoril and Cascais have an international flavour, with many well known fish restaurants. Sintra is other worldy, with ancient mysterious buildings and a mystical atmosphere. Not to be missed.
