Spacious 3 bedroom apartment in a quiet residential area, close to beaches and town. Sleeps 6/7, with 3 double beds, a fold-out bed and single bed-settee, and 2 bathrooms, 1 en-suite. The apartment is on the 6th (top) floor, giving beautiful sea and hill views from generous terrace areas. Each room has a balcony. Air-conditioning and heating units in each room. Tennis courts and 2 pools adjacent to the apartment. Boa Vista and Palmares golf courses are a short drive away. Restaurants are within 5 minutes walk, and Lagos town centre 10 - 15 minutes walk. Lagos is a small coastal market town in Western Algarve, with 14th century walls, an old town, good shops and nightlife. It has a harbour and marina, dolphin safaris, and a huge beach with sailboard rental, water ski lessons, canoeing and surfing. There is a small local airfield offering microlight tuition.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
Electricity is included in the rent. Rent for long winter lets is negotiable. The apartment is as comfortable for a couple, or 2 couples, as it is for more people.
Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible. We have a manager who will provide keys and show you around the apartment. We prefer you to arrive after 2pm, and leave by 10am on the day of departure unless we have previously arranged otherwise.

The apartment is cleaned between lets, and once a week for longer lets. Linen and towels (except for swimming) are provided, and changed every 7 days. There are duvets for cooler weather. |
Notes on accommodation
The apartment is tiled throughout. It is one of two top floor apartments, 6th floor, and the balconies, or terraced areas, are on top of other flats. Their railings are approximately hip height for an adult, and can be seen in one of the photographs. The apartment is cool in summer, and easily made cosy when the weather is cooler. It has a lot of space, and is very private and quiet. We have a manager who will meet guests, shop for a box of groceries if required, and provide help where necessary.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the 6th (top) floor, and is accessible by 2 lifts and stairs. The lifts are very reliable. The flat is not suitable for wheelchair users because there are 4 steps up to the front door, and no ramp. There is a handrail, and the steps are not deep.
Outside
The apartment has a lot of outdoor terrace space; each room opens onto a balcony, with beautiful views. There is a table, chairs and parasol, and sun loungers. There is a pool on either side of the building, one a private club with heated pool, the other unheated, both with sun loungers and available for a small charge. Tennis courts are adjacent to the building. The apartment is within easy walking distance of Lagos town centre, and of 4 small beaches. There is a small supermarket nearby and a pizzeria across the road.
Coast/Beach
The biggest beach in Lagos is Meia Praia, with sailboard rental, water-ski lessons, surfing, canoeing and banana boat in season. This is a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk from the apartment, past the harbour and marina. Dolphin safaris operate from the marina. There are several smaller beaches closer; Canaviel, 10-15 minutes walk, Don Ana, the same; both small quiet beaches. Porto de Mos, 20 minutes walk, has a cafe on the beach.
Golf
Boa Vista is the closest golf course to the apartment, approximately 5 mins drive or 15 mins walk away. It is an 18 hole course, with lovely views over the Atlantic. Palmares is a more challenging course,overlooking the Bay of Lagos and has beautiful views too. There are many other golf courses along the Algarve.
Travel
The nearest international airport is Faro, 50 miles/80km to the east along the Algarve coast. There is a motorway, the A22, between Faro and Lagos. Car hire is not essential; a shuttle bus will drop off outside the flat for 20 euros and there is an hourly bus service along the coast. Trains are slow but very cheap, although Sunday service is reduced. Most people speak some English. There are also organised tours with transport available from Lagos, e.g. to Gibraltar and Seville.
Distances
Portimao is the nearest larger town, about 10 miles east along the coast, good for shopping and Palmares Golf Course. Cape St. Vincent, Europe's most SW point, is about 20 miles west. The mountains seen in one of the photos are the Caldas de Monchique, about 20 miles away, and Silves is a small interesting old town on the way there. The old town of Faro is also worth a look. You can visit Gibraltar, Seville or Lisbon as a day trip from Lagos.
Further details
There is a small supermarket over the road, and an Intermarche about 1/2 mile away.There is a small Pizza restaurant and snack bar,open till late, accross the road, and a Chinese Restaurant, and an Italian 5 minutes walk away. Lagos has lots of restaurants, particularly seafood; the one above the market is excellent.There are ATMs and banks within 10 minutes walk.

The remainder of the rent must be paid 8 weeks before the start of your holiday, at which time you will receive contact details for our manager, and the apartment address with map.
