The apartment stands on the first floor of an old town house. The house was once owned by the managing director of Leith Rope Makers who would supply all the roping for the busy shipping ports of Leith. Our particular apartment holds the smart drawing room of the old town house with many of its original features including all its original cornicing and a beautiful marble fireplace. The drawing room boasts views across to Arthur's Seat and overlooks, Leith Links, the first ever golf course! This is a most fashionable and vibrant area and is a short walk or bus ride from the city centre with its world renowned 'Prince's Street' and The Old Town. To enjoy a further choice of retail therapy or to catch the latest film. The apartment is also only a short walk or bus ride to the hugely popular Ocean Terminal. A very calm and civilised place to do your shopping, and also home to The Royal Yacht Britannia. Trendy cafes, bars and restaurants are also in plentiful supply.

Changeover day
Changeover day is preferably a Saturday for a weeks booking and Friday for a weekend. Arrival time is after 3pm and departure time is 10am but we are happy to be flexible if possible.

Travel
Edinburgh Airport is just under 11 miles west of the Apartment. Hire cars are plentiful at the airport and there is also an excellent taxi service. The 35 bus will also drop you off very close to the house. Enterprise rent-a-car are a 5 minute walk from the apartment in Salamander Street and offer an excellent car-hire service at very reasonable prices. However when we stay at the apartment we tend to walk to most places or make good use of the excellent bus service.
Distances
Prince's Street, The Old Town and Edinburgh Castle are a walk or bus ride away. The Royal Yacht Britannia (at Ocean Terminal), is a 10 minute walk or short bus ride. Ocean Terminal is worth a visit with its shops, bars and restaurants and Vue Cinema. The Shore, awash with award winning pubs and trendy restaurants, is a 10 minute stroll away.
Further details
There is a well stocked corner shop a minute's walk from the apartment. There are supermarkets such as Co-op and Lidi a short walk or drive. There are banks at the foot of Leith Walk and in Bernard Street a short distance from the house.
