La Colina is a large villa designed with comfort and style in mind. Within easy reach of historic Befur and the beautiful coastal resort of Tamariu with a promenade, waterside restaurants and shops. Other beaches close by are Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc, Aiguablava and Sa Riera. La Colina is on two levels in modern design and furnished to a very good standard with contemporary and traditional furnishings. Spacious open plan living opens to a large terrace with panoramic views and easy access to the pool area. The rear garden with BBQ and seating is a wonderful spot away from the house and pool to relax and enjoy the views with absolute peace. With five bedrooms and four bathrooms La Colina provides very good accommodation for two families. The upper level has living area, three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en-suite). The ground floor is approached by separate entrance, with two bedrooms (both with dressing and shower room en-suite). A fantastic holiday villa.

La Colina is available all year with air-conditioning and a wood burning stove for those winter months! All the facilities you would expect from a home-from-home are here including internet and full English TV channels. The situation is elevated giving amazing panoramic sea and country views. Three of the bedrooms and the living area have direct access to the pool area.

Accessibility
Note for elderly or people with walking difficulties: there are steps up to the front door.
Outside
The pool is 3.5 x 6.5m with steps into it rather than a ladder and a deep and shallow end. Outside there is a large terrace which leads off the living room with table and chairs for 10 people. A further terrace surrounds the swimming pool and this can be accessed from all the bedrooms on the upper level.
The back garden is approached by steps from the poolside and the kitchen side of the house and here there is a lawned area and many shrubs and trees giving natural shade. This is a very peaceful area away from the house and pool with panoramic sea and country views; most relaxing. A bbq with seating area and a swing chair completes the picture. The views are truly relaxing. Sunbeds and deckchairs as well as outside dining table and chairs are provided.
Coast/Beach
7 minutes drive to the sandy bay at Tamariu and other beaches at Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Aiguablava, all with waterside restaurants and shops. Sa Riera is a little further with its pretty village and deep sandy beach.
This is the unspoilt Costa Brava or Catalunya which is free from large Tour Operated holidays and where most of the properties are owned by Barcelonians. It is rarely overcrowded and has retained real Spanish charm without a souvenir shop in sight!
Golf
Many golf courses in the region including a championship course at Pals, just 10 minutes or so drive.
Skiing
The nearest ski resort is approx. 3 hours drive.
Travel
Girona airport 40 mins drive (approx). Barcelona 1.5 hrs drive (approx). Calais 12 hrs drive (approx). The nearest supermarket and restaurant is approximately 600m while historic BEGUR is just 1.2km with an outstanding choice of restaurants, bars, cafes and individual shops. A truly wonderful location with all amenities, coastal resorts and inland medieval towns within 5-20 mins by car.

Begur 1.2km approx charming hillside town. Nearest shop/restaurant- 600m approx. Calella de Palafrugel and Llafranc 10-15 mins pretty seaside resorts with good beaches, restaurants etc. Peratallada - medieval moated village 20 mins. Girona cultural city called 'Mini Barcelona' 45 mins. La Bisbal famous for ceramics 15 mins. Figueres - home of Salvador Dali 1 hour. Barcelona a vibrant and exciting city - according to recent reports more popular than Paris! 1.5hrs.
Further details
Begur - Charming historic hillside town with a castle at its peak. Cobbled streets and squares plus excellent choice of Catalan restaurants, tapas bars and shops.The main square has entertainment in the high season and several late night cellar bars and a couple of discos. The overall atmosphere is very Spanish with local artists' paintings and crafts displayed in the square during the summer. Every Wednesday there is a market selling fruit/veg clothes and accessories. There are excellent supermarkets, specialist fishmonger, butchers' shops and freshly baked bread available in many shops. This is an area you will want to return to again and again. Every day there will be a different place of interest to visit, be it a cultural pursuit or another sundrenched sandy cove with clear water to while away the day. All the coastal resorts here have waterfront restuarants, cafes and shops and it is a real pleasure to wander the little streets around the front and enjoy the spectacular scenery that this rugged coastline offers. Development here is mainly villas as the terrain does not allow for large apartment blocks and the coastline remains intact with some wonderful coastal path walks.
There are many places of interest including Salvador Dali's castle at Pubol and his amazing museum at Figueres, where you cannot fail to be drawn in by his diverse art. At La Bisbal the streets are littered with ceramic shops and there is also an antique centre. Girona is a wonderful small city to visit, known as mini-Barcelona, with its own charming ramblas and interesting shops and pavement restaurants. Barcelona, if you crave city life, is one hour by train from FLACA (20mins by car from Begur) and here you can leave your car and get right into the centre of Barcelona by train. The border of France is approximately one hour away but you will find all you need and more in this beautiful and charming unspoilt region of Spain, Costa Brava, Catalunya. Access to the back garden is by steps

La Colina out of main season can be rented as a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apt with private pool by taking just the upper level of the house. Rates on request.
