Notes on accommodation
There are two entrances to the apartment. The front door opens onto the square hall, giving access to the open plan living/dining/kitchen area, the two bedrooms and bathroom. From the living room, double glazed doors open onto the terrace, with five steps leading directly to the garden and pools: all beautifully illuminated at night. Smoke alarms and fire extinguisher installed. At Palm Beach, there is a fulltime groundsman during the day and a nightwatchman at night.

Outside
The spacious and pretty terrace (with table and 4 chairs) overlooks the well tended gardens and the large shaped communal pool (depth from 1.20m. to 1.90m.) and children's pool. Free sun loungers & umbrellas at the pool. Note: pools are unsupervised, so care is needed with children/those who cannot swim.
Coast/Beach
Calis Beach is famous for the loggerhead turtle which lays its eggs from May to September, the sea breezes in the hot summer months and spectacular sunsets. Located 2 miles west of Fethiye, reached by a 15min. taxi-boat or 5 min. by dolmus (minibus), Calis is 9 miles from the famous Blue Lagoon at Olu Deniz, a 25min. (or so) dolmus ride away. The shore around Fethiye with its wide range of underwater flora & fauna is great for diving.
Travel
Dalaman Airport is 38 miles away, approx. 35min. drive, through the new tunnel. Transfers from Dalaman cost £60 for there-and-back (up to 4 persons) and can be arranged. Car hire not necessary, but parking just outside the apartment, in the Palm Beach complex.
Distances
Within easy reach of Calis there are many places of interest, e.g. Saklikent Gorge - 30m. deep and 18km. long - it is a breathtaking excursion; Tlos "the sports centre" of Lycia, and home to the mythological winged horse Pegasus and his rider Bellerophon; the ghost town of Kayakoy abandoned as a result of the population exchange between Greece and Turkey; the picturesque harbour town of Gocek; the mud baths at Dalayan - plus the many island boat trips from Calis or Fethiye.
Further details
The Calis area is flat and suitable for families and peace-lovers. Calis (pronounced "Chalis") is a quiet yet busy resort with bars, coffee shops and restaurants along the seafront, a block-paved pedestrianised boulevard. With its large grounds, the Palm Beach complex is about 15-20mins. walk from the Calis boat dock/centre/local shops. Taxis available. Nearby Fethiye, offers further attractions with shops, bazaars, fish & vegetable markets, restaurants, nightclubs, etc.

A deposit of 25% of the total cost is required to secure the booking. Balance due 8 weeks before departure.
