Notes on accommodation
The private guest quarters, with private entrance, are heated with room heaters and a warm gas fireplace in the living room. There is no need for air conditioning in the area, as the temps in the summer average approx. 65 degrees. The winter temps are approx, 58 degrees with very little rain throughout the year. One may play golf, tennis or hike in mid winter but always bring a warm sweater and jacket year around. The large, private quarters are well suited for children, as is the area. The Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of if not the finest in the world, and Dennis The Menace Park, designed by the late Hank Ketchum, father of The Dennis the Menace cartoon character, is a must for the family. The Monterey Peninsula is home to Pebble Beach 17 Mile Drive, Pebble Beach golf course, Big Sur coast and Point Lobos park for hiking, quaint beach towns of Carmel and Pacific Grove, historic Carmel Mission, beaches, all only minutes away.

Accessibility
The access by wheelchair to the facility is ramped, and spacious, private guest quarters are on 1 level.
Outside
The outdoor area is the spacious, private deck and has patio table and chairs to relax and have a glass of wine or just relax from a long day of tourist activities and enjoy the gorgeous Bay views. If you are near the Pacific Ocean the temp. is generally 20 degrees cooler than if you were inland 5-10 miles. So if you want warmer weather here you need not fly away. You may merely drive 5-10 miles inland and find warmer weather in Carmel Valley Village or to the Salinas Valley for a wine tour.
The front garden is the home to varities of succulents and cactus. The design of the garden was taken from
earlier garden designs of Spanish settlers to the region. The huge, public Monterey Sports Center has a large heated pool with several gyms, basketball court, tennis courts and is only minutes away for exercising and is one of the finest in the world for locals and visitors.
Coast/Beach
Approx. 5 to 10 minutes to Monterey, Pebble Beach, Carmel, Pacific Grove. beaches. Approx. 10 Min. to beautiful, coastal Point Lobos Park; approx. 25 min. to Big Sur and coastal hiking trails.
Golf
There are no less than around 20 golf courses within approx. 15 minutes from this location. Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, Spyglass, Poppy Hills courses are approximately 7 minutes by car. We will provide you with free admittance through the Pebble Beach gate. For those in the know, the most exclusive, private Cypress Point Golf Club, Jack Nicklaus' favorite golf course in the world where your likely to run into ex-presidents and well healed business titans from all over the US and most likely Europe is 10 min. away. Golfer, Bobby Clampett grew up in Carmel and maintains a residence as does golfer, Johnny Miller, and some of the finest teaching golf pros in the world. The Monterey Peninsula is defined by its beauty, but it is also golf that it prides itself.

The U.S. Open Golf Tournament at Pebble Beach will be held in Jan., 2010. Whale watching in spring and fall.
Travel
The Monterey Bay area, Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach is approx. 1 hour from San Jose, CA Airport, approx. 2 hours from San Francisco and approx. 7 hr. from the Los Angeles airport. Driving from each airport, there are many beautiful sites to see along the way to Monterey, the beach town of Capitola or Spanish town of San Juan Batista.
Distances
Approx. 2 - 5 miles. to Carmel, downtown Monterey, beaches, hiking, the Monterey Aquarium, Pebble Beach and golf courses in the area. Del Monte Shopping Center is minutes away with fine restaurants, shopping, banking, and wireless at Starbucks coffee.
Big Sur and Point Lobos park are 20-30 minutes away for coastal hiking.
